AACR-NCI INTERNATIONAL INVESTIGATOR OPPORTUNITY GRANTS

The American Association for Cancer Research and the US National Cancer Institute are pleased to announce travel grants for the Seventh Annual AACR International Conference on Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research, to be held from November 16-19, 2008 in Washington, DC, USA. These travel grants provide support for meeting attendance to ten faculty members residing and conducting research in countries with limited opportunities for scientific advancement.



Meeting registration, airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and funds for incidentals will be provided. The AACR will hold an orientation session for the grant recipients, and will provide networking opportunities during the meeting.



WHO MAY APPLY:



Faculty at any level may apply. Students (undergraduate, graduate or medical school) and postdoctoral or clinical fellows are not eligible.



Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree.)



Applicants must reside in countries defined as low and middle income countries as designated by the World Bank. For a list of eligible countries, please go to http://www.aacr.org/page11758.aspx. Researchers working in the United States are not eligible for these grants.



Applicants must be actively engaged in a program of cancer research, and must have a record of cancer-focused publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Patient case reports are not applicable.



HOW TO APPLY: Candidates must submit an application; full CV including publications history (in English); and a letter of support from the department head or dean. Applicants do not need to submit an abstract to be considered for this grant.
